Especially in recent years, UAVs have attracted great attention in all sectors and their usage areas are increasing day by day. According to the surveys, the estimated total market share of UAVs around 2015-2025 in the world is approximately 90 billion dollars (SDI, 2015). This means an annual market of about $ 10 billion.
The fact that UAVs have entered our daily life for both professional and hobby purposes brings along some legal problems. Many countries do not yet have the necessary legislation in this regard or are constantly developing in draft.On the other hand, due to some potential negativity in the use of UAVs, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in particular the United States Department of Transportation, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Air Navigation Security (EUROCONTROL), conduct comprehensive studies on the legal framework of the use of the UAV. In Turkey, work on these issues is carried out by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Transportation Maritime Affairs and Communications.
